Mendon, MI. (September 1, 2003) — ECM Converting Company announced today that they will begin daily use of new sheeter equipment developed by their technology partner, MarquipWardUnited.

ECM is the beta test site for MarquipWardUnited , which develops new ideas and machines for the converting industry . The new sheeter technology, which is currently exclusive to ECM, incorporates new software and components designed to enhance the converting process and help ECM better serve its customers in a variety of ways. Less waste and faster roll changes allow the company to maintain its competitive position in the market.

The newly enhanced machine is able to run light and heavy boards and gives ECM the capability to begin running paper and plastics. It can also cut larger sheets than ECM has been able to produce previously. The new maximum dimensions are 87 x 92 inches; a size that allows for silk screen printing, movie posters or retail signs.

"Running at a maximum speed of 1200 ft. per minute, it is not only the fastest sheeter in the industry, but also one of the most revolutionary. The machine is able to run at 500 ft. per minute during a skid change without rejecting any material. By doing so it produces less waste than before and is more environmentally friendly. Another feature of the sheeter is its ability to splice a new roll while running at a maximum of 500 ft. per minute. Less downtime means faster delivery.
